Eye of Ra MCC started in October 2006. The founder members had all been in other bike clubs previously but felt that they wanted something they could call their own. So it seemed right to get cracking on starting a new club.
A number of names were considered for the club but finally “Eye of Ra” was suggested and stuck. The Eye of Ra is an ancient Egyptian being, also known as the “Eye of Horus” or the daughter of Ra. It is seen as a sign of protection, the “all seeing eye”. Whilst being a protector the eye is also seen as a sign of health and the individual components were used as measurements particularly relating to medicine.
