The Hangmen MC Motorcycle Club was founded in Richmond, California in 1960.
Hangmen celebrate 1960-2010 50 years strong, Colorado.
A group of friends, united by their love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, noticed the rise of motorcycle clubs in the area. Rather than joining an existing one, they decided to create their own club.
The Richmond chapter had 12 founding members, including Ray Aho, who is often recognized as the founder of the Hangmen Motorcycle Club.
Over time, the motorcycle club expanded across the western United States, forming several new chapters.
In 1983, the Hangmen Motorcycle Club made its way to Germany, operating independently from the U.S. chapters at that time.
The Denmark Hangmen were founded in 1990, also independently of the American chapters.
In 1999, the German Hangmen joined forces with the Hangmen Denmark Lalandia chapter, adopting their black and white patch design, which remains in use today. However, the Lalandia chapter closed in 2000.
The Hangmen Germany clubhouse, known as the “Execution Place,” is located near Massbach, approximately 100 miles east of Frankfurt, Germany.
Since 2008, Hangmen Germany has had an official brotherhood with Hangmen USA.
