Vikings MC England (UK)

Vikings MC England was first established in late 1969, in Surrey, are one of the oldest MC back-patch clubs in the UK.

Vikings MC colours are blue and black on white with black borders. Our Centre-Patch is a Viking Death’s Head facing forward. Our Death’s Head nickname is “Happy Larry” ©1986. Larry’s colours are grey, brown, yellow, black, white and red.

In 1969, when the club was formed, the club name was “Hells Angels Vikings M.C.”. H.A.V.M.C were not affiliated to any other Hells Angels type club and remained an independent unit run for its members by its members.

The change of Back-Patches in 1980 was mainly due to the fact that H.A.V.M.C was a rogue and uncharted club. Its members wished to remain an Independent club run by the members within it, without any outside intervention.

In early years H.A.V.M.C had many run-ins with other clubs in England and remained in a constant state of war with certain clubs whilst flying the uncharted Back-Patches.

In 1980, many of the Hells Angels had banded together and were in the final stages of getting all of the Hells Angels in England to fly under the one banner.

The Vikings were invited to the early meeting of the Hells Angels to discuss the formation of the All-England Hells Angels, but declined their offer after they realized that they would come under the control of the Hells Angels and the International intervention that joining would entail.

Many of the rogue uncharted H.A. clubs resisted joining the All England Hells Angels but one by one these chapters conformed to the request of the chartered chapters culminating in all of the H.A. chapters in England joining together to form the All England Hells Angels.

The Vikings had controlled their own destiny and would continue to do so by their own will under the new Back-Patch of Vikings M.C. Nomad.

The Vikings MC are proud of their independence and continue to live their lives as they see fit to do so.

1980 to Present: In England, the Sussex chapter arose. Their Back-Patches had a “Nomad” bottom rocker before they claimed the “Sussex” Bottom rocker.

Both the French Chapter and the Italian chapter both retain the “Nomad” bottom rocker, as did the Irish Chapter until 1997.

In August 1987, the Irish chapter claimed the “Ireland” bottom rocker.

Over the years, we have grown strong. All chapters are run by the individual members, for its members, each as an independent club in its own right able to make its own decisions without interference from outside forces.

Each chapter has its own specific rules by which they abide by, yet we all exist and stand together in times of trouble.

In quieter times we stand alone in our own independence and have democracy as was intended by our founder members.

We are our own men, we answer only to ourselves and dance to nobody’s tune but our own, such is out destiny by method of continuous improvement and expansion without question.

We continue with the pioneering spirit that our club name suggests.

I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Beef, Lee, and all the other members that turned up on Saturday at the Viking Valhalla Festival in Basingstoke, which was organised by my son, and his missus, and was their first ever event.

There had been quite a lot a lot of teething problems, and when the guys saw how stressed my son was getting the first thing they asked was “What can we do to help?”. Thereafter, litter picking, a some low key security, and anything else they could help with was done as needed, So from Steve, Andreea, and a very appreciative dad, thank you very much.

I had hoped to see Johan there, and it would have been nice if my old pal Chaz Wells had been part of the group, but sadly they weren’t there.

You guys excelled yourselves again this year, which is very much appreciated. Glad to see so many positive comments about the MC, from members of the public, on the festival’s Facebook page.

Thanks to Trigger and all the others (far to many to name) From me, Steve and Andreea, and baby Freya who, at six days old, must be one of the youngest festival goers ever.

Hello do you have a charter in Portsmouth?

Jason

I would in no way try to disrespect or tarnish yours or any other Patch or heritage. This is the whole reason for reaching out before simply attempting to start a chapter. I know many clubs have patched over in the past to bigger more powerful clubs. And didn’t know if something like this would at some point in the future be a posibilty. Its always been a dream to start a club based on the principles of loyalty Respect I had hoped to in many ways to somehow bring the traditions and values of the Vikings MC to the states and help to make the Vikings MC deathhead a symbol of Tradition,Loyalty and Respect recognized in the USA as it is in Europe. I am ever thankfull of your reply and will in the Spring have at least a RC up and running. Hopefully we can stay in touch… Read more »

Hi,
How do I go about being considered to join this club …

Colin

Jason Denton, I am not sure if this is still the case but to wear the clubs patch you would first have to become a prospect. You cannot just take on the Clubs Patch as it would be seen as disrespectful to those who have been prospects for many years and had to work hard for the Patch if that makes sense? You would need to earn the Patch before you can start a chapter. I am sure you have the best intentions in the world, but you have to think of the existing members and how they might feel. It might be worth forming your own small club and showing your support for the Vikings MC that way. Getting in touch with the Clubs President etc Explaining exactly why and what you want to achieve. But please never wear a clubs patches with out there permission and never wear… Read more »

Hello Brothers my name is Jason Denton I have inquired with the Ireland chapter of Vikings MC I would be honored to start a USA chapter of your club. I am of English Irish and Scotish decen with a little bit of French. My point being I would be HONORED to fly the flag of my Bothers in Europe. I have a great relationship with the President of the Hells Angels Providence who I have spoken with about starting an MC based in Coventry Rhode Island.I did not mention your club nor my intentions of talking with your clubs ”’I England and Ireland as that would have been disrespectfull before talking with you.. I could start a club with another name but i would love to wear a patch long known for its commitment to Brotherhood and Family… I hope to hear from you soon regaurding this issue.. May God… Read more »

I would strongly advise googling the recent history between Vikings MC and HAMC England before having any further contact with either club. I know some of the people involved personally; it’s not something I’d advise.

I’m certain HAMC Providence will be aware of what I’m talking about, and frankly I think you might be putting yourself in real danger if you mention Vikings MC to them again.
